Here we go...

Well we brought in the new year at home with friends. It was a blast. We grilled, had a bonfire, smores, a forest fire, a few minor injuries and lots of laughs. Thanks to everybody that came to hang out! Oh if you're wondering about the forest fire, umm yes it really happend. While Adam and Jonathan were launching massive fire works from the front yard, the base of Adams exploded and then fell sideways launching about 100yds in the woods. At first one of the very observant ladies, Allsion or Sam, mentioned she saw fire. At first we all laughed and then the flames staretd to get bigger. Adam and Russ were the first fire fighters to the scene. Adam stomped flames in sandels and Russ was jumping around in 2ft flames since he was the only one with shoes on. Ronnie held the flash light. Cham yelled "Get some water" Jonathan said "umm how are we gonna get it out there" as he ran by with a shovel. Thankfully our fearless men survived and put out the fire about 30 sec before we called 911. Oh and Joanthan and Keith totally got mamed by the briars. There was also this little incident were someone tried to light a giant sparkler on a propane heater. Yep, doesn't sound like a good idea, it wasn't. Carla did a little log rollin to escape the hissing, flaming heater, but Ronnie saved us. All in all a little dangerous, but lots of fun.

More pics of AU game day at our house

This is the newest member of our family. We had 16 people descend on our little house. Thank goodness we have more than enough yard space. We spent most of the day outside playing cornhole, eating really good snacks, watching the 7 dogs torment us and each other and making fun of each other... in love of course. So here are all the pics I could post. It really was so nice to have our family and extended family of friends gathered in one place. We are so blessed to have them! ~RAE<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246730974164248738" style="DISPLAY: block; The drive was a little long, considering this is the day gas jumped to almost $5 for the first time ever in my life, oh and because we got lost a little. Anyway we ate awesome BBQ, and got to see Rollin in the Hay and then Zac Brown. He was even better than the last time we saw him. It was so so much fun. Oh and Rick from Rollin in the Hay was more into his music than he has been the last several times we saw them. He was so animated... it felt like the ol' days. The guys got their pic with Zac. They were excited. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect. ~RAE

WAR EAGLE!!!

So we went down to one of the best places on earth this weekend... A.U.B.U.R.N. We has a little disaster thanks to our bff's the Hardy's. We were suppose to stay in their RV, but it died. (Rest in peace blue goose.) Anyway so the four of us were in AU with no place to stay and some of us without clothes. Just a little inconvenient, however we did have a generator and a satellite. Anyway we hit up Amy for some floor space and some running water. Yeah we got to take showers. She even made cinnamon rolls for breakfast... Thanks AMY. Anyway we ate dinner fri night at the Ole Auburn Ale House. It was way good. Our portions were ummm huge! So talegating was fun. Clay,, J'Dub and Allison came down the next day along with another Rachel. JP cooked up some awesome burgers. We had tons of food, friends, cornhole, a great view of Jordan-Hare and a prime spot on red neck row (wire road) ... what else could you ask for? Oh and the game was a shut out with the defense scoring the first TD of the season. Afterwards some of us headed to Toomer's Corner. This was a first for Allison... congrats on getting saved! Then we tried to avoid traffic, which did not happen... Thanks for driving home Jonathan. I slept. ~Rae

Babies and Apple pie

YEAH! For those of you who didnt hear, we went on a family vacation. Jonathan, me, Tiny and Scout. Yes, that is our fam. Anyway we went to St George Island, about 70 miles from Panama city. My aunt and uncle vaca here and recommended it. It was a 7 hour drive with only 2 stops. So the boys did awesome and loved the beach. Apparently sand is way more fun to dig in than dirt or grass. I got covered on several occasions.

Tiny loved the ocean, except when waves went over his head. Scout was not so fond of the water, he thought the surf was chasing him. St George is very dog friendly. Everyone around us had dogs. We had very social neighbors that came to visit Tiny and Scout everyday. The boys got to stay off of their leashes for the most part. Two days into our trip we walked across the street to do some shopping. While we were out a tornado or water spout blew the power lines to the island down. So we were at the beach with no power (that means no air conditioning) for about 2 days. Oh did i mention that it rained every day, most of the day!!! Thats ok, we just played in the rain on the beach, the dogs didn't really care for layin' out anyway. Leslie and Joseph came down to visit inn the middle of the stay and brought Rainey. Our dogs layed on her little 2ft bed like they didnt have a huge blanket or couch available. They got along great though. We were very thankful for the company and entertainment since we had no power. We had lots of awesome food Joseph cooked and ate at some great places. Appilachicola is an awesome little down. We ate a the Owl Cafe and it was one of the best places Ive ever been. Also we went to a chocolate store...yummmm! Lots of cute little shops. Im sure I left some details out(like we followed gps and took a dirt road home) but ya'll get the idea. It was basically a few pastors that got together and thought it would be cool if they got a few churches to all share videos and messages with one another and then on July 26 launch a nationwide effort to just be servants in our communities. The ONE PRAYER series was origianlly going to be 6 churches but God had other plans. It became 1600 churches world wide.. Pretty awesome. Well God used this series to stir mine and rachels' heart and we are praying, serving and waiting on God's timing. He is going to do something awesome! Today we had the chance to serve at a local clinic that teaches people to read, provides dental and medical care as well as a lot of other services. We had a prayer and worship session at Lynn Park early this morning but i failed to get any pics. So i will post the pics i have from the clinic. Stacey and Keith, me and Jonathan and Sam went to Rosemary beach. We also went to visit the Howells and the Hardys in PC. It tooks us an hour and a half to get down the strip to visit ( it should take about 2o min). The drive was worth it because we got fed good food and watched awesome fireworks from Baypoint. Jonathan got soaked with silly string, no one got burnt and we ate a lot!!! Oh and Keith and Jonathan wasted some money because they didnt stick to the decisions they made while they were there. We also got to watch an awesome UFC fight were Forest Griffin won the title. I was just glad that we had seats at Buffalo Wild Wings because it wa spacked wall to wall. We ended the trip with a stop at the outlet malls. Then we headed home. The three amigos jammed in the back seat watched movies the whole way. I slept mostly, so thanks to Jonathan who got us home in all the rain. ~RAE

4th of July at Highlands

So highlands did a firework show for the 4th. Allison, Jonathan, and I watched the Barons play Jacksonville (Courtney backed out on us). I got to hang out with Brooke and Alan for the first time in months. Yeah!!! This was my first trip to a thirsty Thursday and I was impressed with how much fun I had. It helped that I had friends to talk to, lots of snacks (thanks to Allison) and there was a fight on the field. I am very upset that there is not another thirsty thursday that I am off the rest of the summer. Everyone should try it if you get a chance. ~RAE

UGA mascot passes away.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,373361,00.html As a dog lover and a true SEC sports fan my heart goes out to all of the UGA fans.

#1 class loses its luster

Very interesting article on the University of Alabama's #1 recruiting class. Seriously 2 at every entrance, up and down every road on 4 wheelers and golf carts and 2 choppers in the air. We camped in a field with about 9,000 other folks and no shade. In South Alabama in June with no shade and no rain it was just a little warm!!! So the music was AWESOME. My fave suprize on Fri was The Zac Brown Band. Never heard them before, but they had some songs that have been stuck in my head for days. That night we saw Trace Adkins, yes I kinda like this huge man, and ZZ TOP. Those guys may be way old but they definitely rocked. I got yelled at by some rather large old ladies that didnt want to stand up, but the people in front of us saved me from fighting and gettin squished.... I was feelin a lil rowdy! So the Sat night we saw Corey Smith, Miranda Lambert, Skynyrd and HANK! The whole night was great. By the time Hank went on there were 90,000 rednecks in some fields in Enterprise AL. The crowd got a little crazy... we saw some violent women in a few fights. Oh did I mention that I didnt get to shower for 3 days except for with water out of the cooler and that there were porta potties for the 10,000 people they expected instead of the 90,000 that showed. Oh and we walked a 1/2 mile to the shows several times a day. Unless that is you caught one of the John Deeres pullin a trailer to haul you! No one is ever allowed to call me prissy again. I rocked the nasty feet and heat without comlpaint ALL weekend. ~RAE

~ SOUTHERN and LOVIN' IT~

Son of a Beach!

ONLY 2 boys and all those girls!!!

Yes ER nurses do REDNECK at the Coe show!!!

There was a beach trip with way to many stories to tell. Good food, good friends, rock band, outlet malls, super redneck store, AKA Bass Pro Shop(my new fav store). Lots of sun, someone got a sunburn in the shape of africa, someone skin turned black, there was some old dudes next to us that absoluetly loved the scenery. There was a trip to Ft. Walton to a honky tonk where we saw David Alan Coe. A redneck showed up in seaside. A skateboard was stolen. there was a front porch and a guitar which made for a little sanging. with all that said there was more but rae will tell of that. However there was NOT any "chipped beef chicken" nor pineapple casserol with corn flakes. Now there is a coming weekend in Enterprise Alabama known as BAMAJAM and then there is a countdown til my lil sister and bro in law get to experience the beach with rae and me!! Cannot wait!!!

Aww... dont ya think we're cute! Stacey and I took our first stab at cooking for the whole family.

The menu was:

~Homemade fried chicken~

                                          ~Green bean casserole~ ~Macaroni & Chesse~

                                          ~Hashbrown casserole~ ~Deviled Eggs~

                                                         ~Blueberry and peach Cobbler~

It all turned out great. We had enough food for about 20 more people, but at leat we had plenty to go around. Jonathan and Keith were a big help. Lets just say I know why KFC is so popular and I will always buy it from now on. Homemade fried chicken is not worth it if your the one that has to do it. The meal definitely made me more appreciative of all the family dinners I have attended. Anyway our first meal was a sucsess according to our family. They could have lied though:) ~RAE

Trick Bowling

The ER girls at the J Clyde

                                                                                          Bowling with my Fam!!!

Well this past weekend was a blast. Little bit busy, but that just keeps things entertaining. So, we did a little redecorating for anyone that wants to come by and see. I love it! The downside is all I wanna do is sit on the front porch with my dogs and read. I havent found much time to dedicate to that, but Im getting there. A big thanks to my hubby who is always pushing me to improve and who was very helpful with everything, even if he didnt trust my vision 100%. Of course he loves it now that its over. Anyway Thursday was a packed day with the decorating followed by dinner at the Thai House with the fam. Bowling was a blast. Props to my mom Amy and Nick for left handed strikes, and to me for a strike under the leg. (YES I HAVE THAT MUCH SKILL) Lets just say Hannah and I needed to make things interesting so we made a few things up... Under the leg, backwards, one leg hop, blind, granny style, and spinner bowling were just a few. If anyone wants to learn our amazing techniques just gives us a holla. Amazingly no one was injured. So JP and I ended the night at The J Clyde with co workers to celebrate Jonathan's 27th and Allison's 24th birthday. We just crammed 12 people into half a small patio. Lots of fun but definitely need a real break just to relax... good thing the beach is coming up!!! ~RAE

Roast, Dogs and the Back Deck Roll

Hello to all! So on Friday we loaded up the boys and the kayak and headed to the lake. The 4runner actually was used as an SUV. The boys hung there head out the back and enjoyed the ride as well as being able to run a muck at the lake. Scout actually gets to hunt when he goes to his grandmothers. While paddling the kayak around on the lake i managed to perfect the back deck roll. May not mean much to anyone but me but its pretty cool. The fam minus Keifer who was at home went out had some good food and good times only to return the next day to do the same. Sunday went to church (awesome) and the bro and sis house to eat some roast. My lil sis has grown up (a little) her house was awesome and very clean but i am sure it was mainly because the fam was coming over. NOT that is dirty all the time but it was spotless and she has two dogs that do shed so i know she had just vacuumed.(love ya sis). The rest of the day Rae and i did some cleaning and went and picked up one her grandmothers old library tables, it adds to our house, i like it and then Rae got the itch to change the bedroom furniture around and so forth and so on. Well that is all. Does anyone really read these things? Either way i think it is fun. Pics will follow once Rae finds out i have posted. Blessings and Peace. Lets just say I could not have asked for a better theme! I love the 80's music, big hair, and neon colors. A little flashy, but as I have been told over and over by my lovely husband, thats just me. So it was a 2 week ordeal convincing Jonathan to go. I know I get my way a lot, but even I was shocked when he went and dressed up. Andrew Dice Clay, that was his unintentional look. Anyway he had a blast even if he wouldn't admit it at first. Now he has accepted that going for me was worth it. After all if he didnt go, who would be my Prom King. Really as silly as it sounds I was excited about going as a couple and winning the O So lovely red velvet crowns. I always wished I had known him in high school so I could have shared my actual prom with someone I love and enjoy as much as him. Ok enough of how in love I am. Of course the outfits and dancing were awesome!!! Anytime "You Shook Me all Night Long" and "Pour Some Sugar on Me" are on the playlist you can rest assured I"ll have an awesome time. Some of us had not had enough fun when the Prom was over so we headed to Cafe Firenza for round 2. All that attended round 2 were pleasantly surprized that they had an 80's cover band playing. Yes we got a shout out from the band! We got lots of attention and we were even asked to take pictures with some folks. Here IS the only pic I have beacause our camera died, so if anybody reads this and has more pics please send them my way. ~RAE

Purple Rain and 5th Ave

We went to see Dave Barnes and NeedToBreathe (one word name?) last Wednesday at my favorite place (minus the sound stage) Workplay. The opening band was awesome and I got to hear On a Night Like This as always. Good music and good company made for a nice night, even if we were almost late, and the crown was way intoxicated. Seriously the most passed out and throwing up, stumbling annoying people in Workplay ever! Its sad to say I got few good laughs out of it. Well this was my first official post on our blog! Yeah me! Here are some picks of the ED crew from the show.

Wife loose on blog.

For those of you who know my wonderful wife know that we are polar opposite. Completely pointless to everyone but me, i know but whatever. So giving a lot of thought about getting back involved in the Childrens Ministry at our Church. I know that i serve a purpose at my job but i do not feel as though i am doing enough for the Kingdom. I know works do not save me but "faith without works is dead". See for me i am comfortable, content, happy i mean at time even joyous. I have ups and downs and am in know way claiming to be perfect, as you can read in a few posts below i am very capable of being a jerk.(sorry again rae). I could sit back and coast the rest of my life all the way to the grave. I think that my heart is telling me to stop coasting. I am not talking about moving to another country even though i would love to, i am talking about my my neighbor or the guy or girl waiting on my table or the kids in my church that are bombarded by the world mon-sat. I confess first off that a lot of the times i am a poor picture of the love of Christ but i am telling you that i will be dying to myself and diong a better job in the future. The thought that sparked this is this: what if i am all "they"(the kids, the neighbor, or waitress) get? Would it be enough to convince them that there is a real God who loved and died for them? I will strive to be that Love! Peace. So like i always do i freaked out a little and started thinking the worst. For example i found out that the type of cough he had was a sign of Cardio Myopathy in dogs. So i was a complete jerk on the way home because i was pretty freaked out that my best buddy could have had heart disease.(sorry Rae for being an ass) So long story short we took him to the vet today and he just has an awful infection and some upper respiratory stuff going on and "tiny" weighed in at a whopping 162lbs. So we started some meds today and hopefully he will be better soon. This work week is half over thank God and next week we gots 80's prom and Dave Barnes, should be a good week. Peace.
